Back to anime reviews, and today's anime topic is on 'Infinite Stratos'! Anyways, i would like to apologize for the slow posting even though its holidays, been busy with christmas and stuff. Infinite Stratos, is your everyday harem kind of anime (where there is only 1 male character and many female characters etc.). Mostly for laughs and mainly fanservice, so dont expect any deep shit serious plot to be associate with it. Dont get me wrong, harem's are always good and this show is no exception! People in mobile suits training and fighitng against threats along with complex male-female relationships, thats what i will describe the anime in short. Its all good, this anime succeeds as a harem/humor show. But in terms of action/plot, this anime is pretty bad. Released in january 2011, with 12 in-story episodes and 1 OVA episode. Anyone looking for animes to chill with?? This one is for you!!

The show story lies in the future when technology is at its peak, a mobile suit possessing combat capabilities far greater than any combat system is created. This mobile suit is then given the name, Infinite Stratos (IS). However, the IS can only be operate by females (It happens to only work this way) and has been maintained this way ever since its creation. This 'rule' was only broken when a guy named Ichika Orimura, by accident was found capable of operating an IS. Being the only guy capable of operating the IS, he enters the Infinite Stratos academy, an all-girls academy (where students are trained to operate and combat in an IS). No need me to say, you all can already imagine how this show will be like with just Ichika and 5 specific girls!

In an harem show, its pretty hard to find some decent fights as most of them are just foolish ones. Some will be serious for the first few moments, and then crack us all up when reaching climax. Well 'Infinite Stratos' does not follow this trend, there are indeed serious decent fights (although some of them end pretty quick). Fights that start off in tension and ends right (can be disappointing at times), but well i think its satisfying!
Harem shows also have the habit of having the single guy choosing 1 out of the group of girls. Most of the anime's will just build up this tension then end the show, giving us no answer to the question. While in this anime, it does have the answer to our questions. So yeah, i guess its pretty well done for a harem kind!
Opening song, is 'Straight Jet' by Minami Kuribayashi. Catchy to the ear after listening to it a couple of times, suits the anime pretty well i guess.

Woooo exams are over, 2 weeks of holidays from now. My blog has been pretty dam dead in the past couple of weeks, so i guess i will speed my posts up since i have the time. Rather than usual anime/game reviews, i will start off with something new today, well the title says it all! The 'Anime fighting games' that i am refering to would be characters from many various animes coming together and competing on a single platform! I wont deny the fact that these characters would mostly be from action-animes, you cant really expect (For example, Yui from K-on!!) to participate in anime fighting games, bashing people up with her guitar?!?! Thats gonna be a real funny if it really happens but who knows, even Phoenix Wright can make his debut into fighting games......Just saying!
*Since i am talking about characters from different anime's, do expect some spoilers.

Starting off december with an kickass anime, Durarara!! 'Durarara......what the fuck is it about??', would be the first impressions of people who have yet to watch it, as its name totally gives no clue, simply just sounds like a dumbass anime. Well, i dont blame you, i was once like this maybe even now..........judging anime's by their names. Back to topic, Durarara!! actually is one of a kind, all about one typical city with typical people living in it and what will happen if you ever cross with these typical people. Sounds boring, yes i know but trust me, you can never find such a storyline as solid as this! Its like when you first started watching, its nothing much. But when you reach the end, you just realised your mind is being fucked.......well-fucked!! This anime was released in early 2010, with a total of 24 story episodes and 2 OVAs. Looking for a anime with a deep plot?? Here it is!!

Set in a buzzling city Ikebukuro, Japan. A lively innocent city on the outside, on the inside hid mysteries and legends yet to be unveiled. Everything begins with a young teen, Mikado Ryugamine who happens to move to Ikebukuro in order to attend the same academy with his close friend, Masaomi kida. Slowly Mikado gets drag into some internal affairs of the city, meeting unique/fearsome people along the way. (Normally, the ones who are feared by others gets their name spread all over the city). As all these is happening, someone is just at the back enjoying and overseeing the entire situation!
            
Its really hard to describe this anime, as there isnt really much fighting scenes (Maybe just a few with characters being real badass). It is one of those type of anime with not much action, but still being able to draw you into its story, keeping you watching. Kind of like showing life from the 'dark' side of Ikebukuro, following up by the main characters getting involved with this 'dark' side!
Opening songs, there are two. 1st opening is 'Uragiri noYuuyake', by Theatre Brook. 2nd opening is 'Complication', by Rookiez is punk'd. Great songs by great artistes, kinda suit the setting of the anime. Personally prefer the 2nd opening over the 1st.

Well, its a trend of mine to be cosplayers-selective whenever i attend a anime-related event! Although my photos of cosplayers for AFA were really pathetic in number, i still managed to source out 5 which appears to be slightly better than the rest. You may think otherwise though, but to me they are pretty dam fine! Lets start off....
When i first saw them, i thought they were some alien versions of miku untill i saw their duel disks. My friend then told me they were from Yugioh 5Ds, Ruka and Rua. Not a bad pair, lots of people were snapping shots of them and so i did. Its a pretty easy cosplay, and i would say they did well in it!
The Genocides from Baka test!!! A pretty epic bunch, 'yearning for Hideyoshi and hating on Akihisa', its just hilarious when you see them walking around the hall raising their boards high up shouting to show their protest/desires!! Out of all the characters from Baka Test, the least i expect to be cosplayed are the genocides, and it appears i am so fucking wrong. Anyway, cool stuff!
Misa, from the Death Note anime. Yet to watch both the anime and the real drama though, its my friend who noticed her and so i just took a photo of her. A pretty cute girl indeed, looking great in that cosplay, hope to see her again in future events. Anyway, good stuff!
Something that i have been longing to see in all anime events, Kuroko and Misaka posing TOGETHER!!!!! Its so damn rare to see this pair, and if i did, i will definitely take a photo of them, and here it is! Kuroko looking great, Misaka looking not too bad either. Great pose by the both of them, Misaka doing her famous railgun stance, Kuroko sticking to her judgement pose (Y). Just awesome, hope to see them again in future events!!
Well, i have no damn idea who she is, but 1 thing for sure, shes smoking hot!! Looks freaking badass arent she, some resident evil badass villian girl?? Like maybe a much cooler Jill or something.......wearing a gas mask like this sure is misleading! Anyway, good pose and great cosplay! Sexay stuff xD

Thats about all for My top 5 cosplayers for AFA 2011. Overall, its a great event with great cosplayers! Need to brush up more on my anime's and games, as i am still lacking on them given that i am taking so many photos of cosplayers that i dont even know who they are. Nonetheless, AFA FTW!!!

The event that all otakus are bound to look forward to........... Anime Festival Asia!!! Its here once again, held on 11th november 2011, nice date eh. Its begins on a friday and last till sunday, a 3 days event. However, the event only officially begins on saturday. On friday, booths and merchandise are not yet ready to showcase to the public. Well, and it turns out i went on saturday morning! I bought the $18 ticket, which includes entrance to both the exhibition hall and the stage show, quite a worth deal! Last year's AFA, i went in with knowledge of only 2 lengthy animes (Naruto/Bleach). Spend a year of catching up with other anime's, this year's AFA definitely strike me good!!
Photos-wise, it arent as sufficient as the 2 events i went previously (STGCC and Cosfest). Merchandise, i took quite a number of it (Y). Cosplayers, not as many photos. Crowd banging each other, cosplayers running around, its really hectic. IF ONLY there werent so many people, which is kind of impossible. Anyway, enough of trash talk, lets start off with some photos~!
Other popular animes like kuroshitsuji 2 and beelzebub etc. were also showcased. Well, i am not really into these animes yet, so yeah give me more time!
Mirai.....seems interesting. A new anime? Or some kind of programmed singer like miku? I seriously dont know anything about it. There are figurines, dolls and merchandise for it but ONLY for display! So i guess its not officially released yet.
Figma's special i guess? You can see anime favourites like haruhi, mugi, madoka etc. put together, as if they gonna be out in the same anime. Anyway, good stuff from mirai!!
Hoho, its Misaka baby! Railgun, being one of my most-liked anime's, i am indeed glad that it is recieving some love other than just Index. Continue to rock on~!
Ore no imouto, i have yet to watch this anime. Heard that is quite interesting, so yeah i guess i will give it a go! Good stuff from both Railgun and Oreimo!!
Figurines from Madoka Magica! Being one of the most liked animes of the year, this is not to be left out. Looks good though, cheers!
More figurines! Theres 1 piece, naruto, kamen riders etc. Many of which are still on-going, so yeah you can expect them to appear again next year or so.
Dragonball series......YOU SERIOUS BRO!?!?! I really didn expect to see any dragonball stuff in AFA, since its like so dam oldschool. Anyway, i guess its for those old otaku's who still wishes for dragonball to make its comeback. I just took for fun though.
Naruto/Sasuke all over again. Figurines made from the Shippudden series, nothing fancy. You can expect to see them again in AFA 2012. Well, i quitted Naruto years ago so i am not gonna anticipate them.
Chibi's from the Sora no Otoshimono series! I have yet to watch it, heard from friend that its nice comedy. Characters itself looks great, will give anime a go as long as time allows!

How can vocaloids be absent in an event like this........well, here they are!! A full team, okay maybe not, just the top 5 most famous ones. No need me to name, you mad fans should know~ great stuff!
The no. 1 icon in the name of vocaloids, is none other than Hatsune Miku! Pretty-looking figurines of her, look so dam tempting. Kind of regretted that i didnt bought a figurine of her during AFA, BUT if i did, i would have overspend.....
Robot-Miku eh? Looks cool though, maybe someday in the future, this would make its debut in human-size? LOL, just a wild thinking of mine.
Another top-tier character from a top-notch anime, Saber from Fate series! Fate zero is still showing though, no rush no rush. Currently, I am still watching Fate stay night and just learnt about Saber. Call me lucky, as Saber is one damn popular character. You can see 10+ sabers walking around the hall, no doubt. I would say, the 2nd most popular of the year after Madoka!
More from the Fate series, Saber/Rider/Tohsaka etc. Fucking good stuff!!!
Probably the best Saber i have seen! Angelic, sexy Saber!!! Man, why have i not watched finish Fate Stay Night before AFA.......Anyways, this Saber figurine would definitely cost a bomb. So Saber addicts, get ready to get ur wallets ripped!!

Yuna from Final Fantasty X-2! Well, a pretty sexy one. Probably one of the better Yuna's i have seen so far in the all the events i have attended.
Something that i didnt expect from ao no exorcist cosplayers. Instead of the usual Rin and Yukio, here we have Amaimon and Mephisto! Pretty good cosplay, Amaimon doing the pose like, "YOU WANT TO PLAY BRO??" Taunting much!

Hmm, thats about all the photos i have. Kinda disappointing number of photos, yes i know. I would love to take more, but circumstances wont allow, so yeah pretty sad. Anyway, since i bought the ticket including the stage show, let me talk about it a little.
Oh, here she comes. Chiwa Saito, the voice actress for a famous character in Madoka Magica. Probably the most memorable artist for me on that day! She did a live dub for several random scenes of Madoka Magica, which drives everyone crazy, as being the fact that shes really good at it! First time seeing a live dub, and yeah this strikes me hard. Following up, she just answer questions that the the commentator have for her and thats it. A rough 30-45 minutes, satisfying much!
Stage show last for about 6-8 hours. Other than these 3 artistes, theres the appearance of Milky Holmes from Vanguard, not to sing but PLAY CARDS with the director of Vanguard in front of all of us audience. The rest of the stage show were just streaming random animes like Vanguard and Gundam Unicorn etc. $10 for the stage show.....i am unsatisfied at first, but now i think of it, its pretty worth it!

Thats about everything i have to say. Spend a rough $100 on AFA (including ticket price), and i would have to say it was well-spend! Its 1 more year to brush up on my anime's, so damn looking forward to AFA 2012 even thought AFA 2011 is over just like 1 week ago!!! Cheers xD
