Just finished this show like 30 minutes ago. I got intro-ed by a friend that this show is sadder than angel beats, so i decided to give it a try. I admit that angel beats made me hold back tears, still not to the extend of shedding yet. But anohana did it, it fucking did it!!!!! A total of 11 episodes, released in april 2011.

The 6 of them were once best childhood friends until 1 of them, 'Menma' dies in a accident. They started drifting apart from one another after the incident, each living their own seperate lifes hoping to forget the tragedy. 10 years later, the ghost of Menma appears before Jinta Yadomi (main character) asking him to grant her a wish which she herself forgets. Suspecting the wish to be related to his no-longer-close friends, Jinta gathers them hoping to help Menma so she could pass on peacefully.
This show is freaking touching i swear, any humans would hold back tears or at least feel sad at the end. The ending is easy to guess just by the first few episodes, but you will still be held back at the end unless your some emotionless freak being!! Starting can be really confusing, especially if you did not read the plot. You would be like 'what the fuck is going on?' 'who the fuck are these people??'. No worries, things will become clear pretty quick.

Thats probably the only 'dislikes' i could find. Show is short, flaws are little. Opening is Aoi Shiori by Galileo Galilei. Pleasing to the ear at once, at least to me. A non-action show that keeps you watching on and on, no words can describe just OPPPPP!!!
