Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (Character impressions part 4)

Hoho, i know its pretty damn late for me to post this, but still i will do it. As you know might already know, Capcom releases 2 character trailers once every month or so, the most recent ones would be Nova and Phoenix Wright! Well, not really a great surprise to me. Nova, isnt as great as i expected. Phoenix Wright, i never played his game before, he looks more of a comedic character than one who can fight.
Hmmm, i would also like to state about the 'Characters Costume Breakdown', seems to be causing quite an commotion. Alternate costumes for characters showcased at a fast rate, some looked pretty cool while some looked pure crap. Actually, most of them are just alternative colors, and Capcom called them costumes...... YOU SERIOUS CAPCOM?!?!?! I doubt all these would be free, Capcom is so damn greedy that i can bet it will just be sold as costume DLC in packs. Maybe even if they do release it for free, its not much a big deal. So what if you looked freaking ass cool with the costumes, when you cant even do a proper air combo, you will just looked like a complete fool!!
From the marvel side, here comes Nova!! Well, never heard of him even once till capcom confirmed him in the roster. From the image alone, looking cool, giving the impression that hes gonna be a real kickass one. Judging from his gameplay, hes just an average one. Nova's a rocket, flying around to save the universe......HOW LAME!!! Gameplay wise, he possesses a number of initiate skills. Able to keep a distance with the opponent, and then initiate a surprise dash skill right into the enemy's face and begin combo-ing, regardless on ground or in air. Decent OTGs, which requires the help of assists. Mainly a close-ranged fighter, pretty decent one among the other close-ranged characters.
Nova's hyper combos............so damn common and unsatisfying!! Firstly, would be Nova releasing a forcefield around him, dealing damage to surrounding enemies. Well, this can be easily relay to phoneix forcefield hyper, which the difference now is that it deals damage. Next hyper combo, its just Nova's version of shinku hadoken!!! in gold colour. Nova has a level 3 hyper combo, nothing impression, just rocket banging the enemy from left to right. Basically, Nova's hyper combos are disappointing, discouraging but nonetheless i will still give him a try!
A highly demanded character from the Capcom side, Phoenix wright!!! Seen his name a couple of times on online polls, mainly the top 5. Friends told me how awesome he is, i cant comment much since i didn play his games. He's a lawyer, landing lawful judgement on criminals. In UMVC3, he's participating in fights himself. Kinda unbelievable, but still possible. Comedic gameplay, which i personally did not like it. No offense to Phoneix Wright fans, but its just a personal opinion. Phoenix Wright's gameplay, using papers and all kinds of tools found in law courts to conduct his combos. With a random purple-clothed girl appearing, serving as either a distraction or a tool for combo-extending. Decent projectiles and OTGs, which is totally unexpected to come out from a lawyer. A unique character to be used, rather than known attackers like Zero and Amaterasu etc.
Phoenix Wright's hyper combos, some unique while some are kinda expected. Firstly, a hyper combo where the purple-clothed girl appeared dashing forward, swinging her arms and hitting anyone in her way. May seems common, but i am just looking forward to what else this girl can do! Next hyper combo, a divine hammer judgement which knocks off everyone including phoenix himself. This hyper combo is to be expected coming from a lawyer! His final hyper combo, which is a level 3..........a whole new level of verbal assault, ending the opponent in a lame yet cool way!

Ending part 4 of character impressions for Ultimate marvel vs capcom 3. All thats left are the final 2 characters waiting to be announced, Rocket Racoon and Frank West! Kinda looking forward to frank west. Rocket racoon can go suck balls. So yeah, thats it for now. 1 more month to the release of ultimate mvc3, get hyped bitchess!!!

Have a nice day!

Ao no exorcist

School has started for me, gonna be real busy for the next 6 months or so. So well, i may not be able to post as many as in the past. 'Ao no exorcist', whats the 1st thing that comes to your mind when you see this title?? The 1st thing that comes to my mind would be "Holding prayer beads chanting and pasting seals around the affected area etc. Eventually, it turns out to be kinda similar, actually even better than my first impressions! Nothing offensive against religions, purely for entertainment wise. This anime was released in early 2011, just ended not too long ago, with a total number of 25 episodes. A really interesting plot, with decent amount of action and comedy. Anyone in the right mind should definitely watched this!!

My rating : 8/10
*In 'Ao no exorcist', there are 2 worlds. Assiah (human world) and Gehenna (demon world)
The story revolves around a teen, named Okumura Rin. He is often being discriminated as a demon's kid, due to his irritable character and monstrous strength. His twin younger brother Yukio, was more of a composed character, entered the well-known 'True Cross Academy' for further studies, while Rin is the complete opposite (reckless, stubborn, lazy etc.). Soon after Yukio gets admitted to the academy, Rin was attacked and came to the truth that he himself was the son of Saten, the god of the demon world.
Upon knowing the truth, would Rin follow in his father footsteps and return to the demon world?? OR disapprove of his father plans and remain in the human world?? Care to find out more........watch 'Ao no exorcist'!!!
A major problem to this series......... the anime drifted way far away from the manga! Well, saw and heard lots of complains about the anime series not following the manga. Following the manga would be much better, thats what they say. To me, i think its pretty okay. Although it drifted away from the original manga plot, this anime is still good in any sense. Solid plot, decent and satisfying action/humor scenes, there isnt really much to ask for! If you were to ask me whether i would prefer a remake OR a season 2, i would vote for a season 2. Anime's doing fine despite not following the manga, so i wanna see how far can they carry on the anime and eventually put an satisfying end to it! Anyways, 'Ao no exorcist' is definitely a good choice for anyone who wants a decent anime!!
Opening songs, there are 2. First opening is 'Core pride', by UVERworld. Second opening would be 'In my world', by Rookiez is punk'd. Excellent opening songs by excellent artists, dont miss it!!

Killing Floor

Been watching alot of anime lately, but still time will be committed to gaming. Today's gaming topic would be on 'Killing Floor'! As the title might already hint you guys, this game is about killing. Killing what??? Well pretty ass common........its your daily zombies alike! Mutated freaks or ghouls you can call them. Something went wrong in certain part of the world, leading to this disaster. You and your squad were then ordered to fight and eliminate these hordes of zombies. Thats where the gameplay starts! This is a 1st-person shooter, released in 2009. Focused mainly on multiplayer cooperative, those with no friends are saddening, as you would have to play with shitty AIs teammates which suck real bad!! Other than that, 'Killing Floor' is definitely a fun game to get your hands on!!

Gamefaqs rating : 7.9/10
My rating : 7.5/10

Goods : Fun cooperative gameplay, great variety of mutated beings,  large number of missions/maps, certain unique features (Slow motion achieved after a successful headshot etc.), availability of different classes (Provides upgrades towards certain equipments etc.)

Bads : Lack of modes, kinda poor graphics for a 2009 game, certain obvious glitches, inflexible system tools (Guide route to trader is fixed, although there is a shorter way to it etc.)
First of all, let me start with the unimportant plot. The most attractive part of the game is obviously the gameplay, who cares about the story right?? I agree to that, but since a plot exist, i will have to talk about it. Located in London, a company experimenting mass cloning and genetic manipulation. Someday something goes wrong, human subjects undergo unexpected mutations, turned extremely hostile and overun the whole company. These mutates escaped to the public, devouring humans and creating more of its kind. You, as a military soldier was send along with others, to fight against these freaks!
A simple and thinkable plot. But still it serves as a purpose for you to play this game, and the explanation of why these freaks even appear in the first place!
Gameplay-wise, its great!! You may find it to be average, shooting zombies are all the same, but you have to admit its fun! Thats right, shooting games might felt all the same, but if you have fun after playing it, the game is worth it. In my opinion, this game is definitely worth it. This game works in a way, that you and your team have to survive up to 7-9 waves of zombies in order to clear the mission.
*Stronger zombies will appear after each wave
-Single player, which pairs you with AI teammates.............well it sucks!!! 'Killing Floor' AIs are pure dumbasses! They stand bravely in front hordes of zombies, even though zombies were like close enough to bitch-slapped them, they will not move a inch. Shooting them in the face eh......PURE stupidity!!! (Happens only when zombies became overwhelming, human players would have back off to keep a distance). So yeah, i discourage playing single player, as it will spoils your impression of the game.
-Multiplayer cooperative, thats where the real fun starts!! Killing and surviving waves of zombies never felt this fun before! When your in trouble, your friends would aid you, vice versa. Human players would definitely buy weapons as the zombies gets tougher. Higher chances of completing the mission, defeating the last boss. All these that i mention, computer-controlled players would NEVER do it.
-Zombie variations wise, its satisfying. Around 7-8 kinds of them, which i think is the sufficient amount for any zombie game. Types of zombies may stretch out from having blades/spitting slime to zombies having chainsaws/shooting rockets. Indeed, a good variety of zombies for such a game.
-Large number of missions/maps, which is good. In an abandoned mansion, shopping centre, desserted grassland etc. Any places that you can think of that is dark, empty and spooky, this game has it all. Exploring is needed, as certain maps are either extremely difficult OR extremely small. Take your time in figuring which maps are the ones that are fun and clearable!
-Certain unique features, which makes this game kind of special. The 'slow motion' feature, which can be achieved after a successful headshot, provides more chances of head-shooting your next target. The health injector, can be used to regenerate a portion of health of either yourself or teammates. The door wielder, which can be used to seal specific doors to prevent zombies from breaking in. A unimportant tool but still can be useful at times. These are the obvious features that i have noticed upon playing.
-Availability of different classes, which provides upgrades to certain equipments depending on what class you choose. For example, the 'Sharpshooter' class provides better accuracy when using scoped rifles etc. A wider range of choices to choose from rather than just being an all-rounder!
Onto the flaws of the game.....
1. Lack of modes, which is pretty damn obvious. Single player and multiplayer cooperative only! Single player sucks, which leaves only multiplayer cooperative. Its fun though, but it would be better if there are other modes like time survival etc.
2. Kinda poor graphics for a 2009 game. Graphics could be better.
3. Certain obvious glitches. Well, it more or less affects the gameplay. You can see zombies half-bodied in the wall, like if they were fucking it or some shit, which is quite frequent.
4. Inflexible system tools. For example, the guide route to trader after each wave. This route is fixed, kind of mislead the players that it is the only and fastest way. In fact, there is a shorter way, which saves way more time.
Concluding everything that i had said, this game is good despite having a couple of flaws. Well, no game is perfect in any sense. 'Killing Floor' is definitely recommended for anyone looking for a decent shooter. Sick of Left4Dead?? Try Killing Floor!!!

Have a nice day!

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 2

Relaying from my previous post, here is season 2! Season 1 was pretty okay, so i expect season 2 to be slighltly more interesting. However, the outcome is so damn disappointing!!! Season 2 turns out to be shit, totally no continuation from season 1 or whatsoever. Ultimately boring episodes throughout, and maybe some decent ones. But these decent episodes simply just explained how certain events occurred back in season 1. Nothing impressive though, i completed season 2 with 1 word in my mind......Boring!! Released in 2007, with a total of 14 episodes. Season 1, in any sense is better than this season 2. Dont believe me??? Watch it for yourself if you have way too much time to spare!!

My rating : 5.5/10
The usual cast are back in season 2, the 5 of them as you can see in the picture. With Kyon again, as the main protagonist and narrator. They will still be doing stuff together, all being lead by Haruhi. The main goal, as usual, is to keep Haruhi occupied and pleased for as long as possible. Season 2 takes place during their summer holidays of highschool. Thats right, lots of activities would definitely be requested from Haruhi, the rest of them just have to follow suit. Lots of fun eh.......but not for the viewers!!!
Some of the issues that make this sequel pretty suck-ass, i will just list them here.......
1. Season 2 itself, is NO continuation from season 1. Even if there is, its probably only 1 episode and it doesnt meant much.
2. The same episodes for fucking 6-7 times! I would meant about 6-7 episodes, they just show the exact same thing over and over again. I would think that 3-4 repeats would be way reasonable already. And it turned out to be 6-7 repeats.........plain RIDICULOUS!!!
3. Well, after several episodes of boring shit, its gonna get interesting isnt it?? The answer is NO. Explanation of occurrence for season 1 events begins, nothing new nor impressive. Boring all over again.
Basically, this fails as a 2nd season. Anyways, you guys can watch this sequel if you want, i am not forcing you to quit this anime. All this above, is just my personal opinions after watching it, to me its a disappointment.
Opening song is 'Super Driver', by Aya Hirano. Pretty catchy song, kind of represents Haruhi enthusiastic character in the show!

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Keeping on track for anime reviews, today's anime topic would be on 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya'. Sounds adventurous eh?? Well, its indeed kind of adventurous, trying to save the world from reaching destruction. Once again, World destruction, does it mean tons of action/war/death etc. ?? The answer is NO. This anime is that given such a plot, it can still proceed finely without the need of war/action. Its mainly on the supernatural and comedy side. This was released in 2006, with a total episodes of 14. An pretty old anime, so dont expect a really interesting one.
*Just a note. Dont watch this on 'goodanime.net', the episodes are mixed up real bad.

My rating : 7/10
The anime begins with the main protagonist, Kyon. He is someone who leads a boring life, goes to school everyday, not giving a damn about anything else. Kyon is also the narrator for the series, you can basically hear him talk alot throughout. He is narrating from his own perspective, how he feels about events/situations as the anime proceeds. Kyon enters highschool for the 1st time, and meets Suzumiya Haruhi. She is someone that has no interest in human affairs, but only interested in supernatural beings like Aliens/Time travellers/Espers etc. After sometime, Kyon unexpectedly became Haruhi's friend and jioned her club under forced, along with 3 other members.
It was later revealed that Haruhi was not a normal human, but a being who can manipulate the world according to her desires. In simple words, she is God. However, she is unconscious about her power. Whenever she feels bored or is upset, something bad will happen the world, altering it in which is what she desires. Simply to put, if Haruhi wished for something or desires something, it will come true. If she is unhappy or disappointed about something, she could also made it disappear. But all these is done without she herself knowing it. It is all up to Kyon and the club members to satisfy haruhi's needs, making her happy, so that the current world could be preserved.
14 episodes of adventures with Haruhi and her club members, all just to pleased Haruhi, making her feel that this world is fun, so she will not alter it!

Well, the anime will fill you with tons of words about the fact that Haruhi is a god, so please bear with it. Besides that, i think season 1 is pretty fine. I will not say the same for season 2 though. Hmm.., i think thats it for season 1. Season 2 in my next post as usual.
Opening song is 'Bouken Desho Desho', by Aya Hirano. Its not bad, if you hear it a couple of times.

Top tier characters in gaming history- Marvel vs Capcom 3/ Blazblue Continuum Shift II/ Super Street Fighter 4

Taking a break from games/anime reviewing, today i will post something different. God tier characters in fighting games history!!! all in which are personally what i feel they are. This post will be only on the 3 fighting games that i mentioned in the title, given the fact that i had played all of them for quite some time (approximate 2-7 months for each game). This will not be a long post, since i will only be listing 1 character per game, so total its just on 3 characters. These characters will either be the ones that i totally depised to fight against OR the ones that i think has the best potential among the rest! Anyway, lets get down to the details.....

1. Albert Wesker (Marvel vs Capcom 3)
-Massive teleports
-Health above average
-High base damage
-Great potential in combos/cross-ups/assists etc.
First of all, massive teleports. Wesker has tons of teleport possibilities, no matter whether its forward/ backward/ up to down or any other directions, he can do it all at a hella fast speed, almost like instantly!! No delay or whatsoever between his teleports, even if there is delay, it is not visible to the eye! Too fast for the naked eye, you wont even know where to block (low/high/front/back etc.) as wesker is just everywhere, all over you!
Health above average. Among the mvc3 roster, the average health is around 800k. Wesker, himself has 1,100,000 health!! To make things worse, he has high base damage as well! Just a simple basic combo, low health characters like Zero and X-23 would already lost 1/3 or even 1/2 of their health.
Great potential in combos/cross-ups/assists. Anybody have to agree to this!! His pistol skill which is off-the-ground allows wesker to extend his combo even longer, dealing massive damage. His teleports helps greatly in cross-ups/mix-ups during assists. Calling in wesker as a assist, for example his pistol assist, just bounces the opponent off the ground conveniently for the main character to continue its combo.
Wesker has every benefit that is possible in the game, with bonuses like tanking hp and high base damage. What do you call someone like this??.......A KILLING MACHINE!!!

2. Jin Kisaragi (Blazblue Continuum Shift II)

-Freeze stun skills (grabs, drives etc.)
-'Ice car' skill penetrates through almost anything
-Resets can be done, given his stuns
-Good potential in combos/resets etc.
First of all, freeze stun skills. Jin's drive is already a freeze stun, get hit by it and you will get your ass whooped! Forward/back/up/down drives are all different, giving Jin players the choice of switching these drives relating to the situation or for combo-extending. Same goes for his grabs.
'Ice car' penetrates through almost everything. For examples, Ragna's hellfang and Bangs's darts etc. Well, this may not be a problem if you block well. Jin also minus 25% of his meter if he uses 'Ice car' with drive. So yeah, its not really a overpowered mechanic but still it takes priority over many other moves. But if you fail to block well, kiss your ass good bye!
Resets are difficult to setup practically in every game. Well, Jin's freeze stuns made resets easier, given the time the opponent is stun, its possible to restart the combo all over again.
Good potential in combos/resets etc. Every character in blazblue has its potential in combat, so does Jin. The main focus of Jin, is the capability of doing a reset during a match, dealing even more damage. Believe it or not, hes a potential character to be learned and not spammed.

3. Seth (Super Street Fighter 4)
-Painful command grab
-Highest chipping Ultra
-Balanced throughout (Close-combat and Range)
-Great potential in combos/cross-ups etc.
First of all, painful command grabs. I would like to state Seth as a 'Zangrief with shoryukens'!!! Not as much health as Zangrief though, but damage-wise, its more or less the same, pain as fuck! Seth's shoryuken deals more hits and damage, given that you put in all the inputs correctly. Overall damage wise, this character is not to be underestimated.
Highest chipping Ultra. I am refering to Tanden Typhoon, where he puts his head on the ground and launch a typhoon from his stomach. Well, not a very good ultra to hit on point, but a very good chipping mechanism. Just dont randomly use it, best to use it when opponent is at a corner at the appropriate time.
Balanced throughout, would mean Seth is able to play keepaway and close combat. Seth has probably the most skills in the game, being most of it copied from other characters in the game. He has just the sufficient number of skills to switch between close and range combat.
Great potential in combos/cross-ups etc. Well, he has alot of skills, its highly possible that he is able to do better combos than other characters. If things get bad, you can always turn to his supreme command grab!! Just teleport and command grab the opponent from the back or head on. You can do that if your lazy with learning combos.

That will be the end of it. These all is just what i think are the top of the top tiers in the game, if you think there are other better ones, well suit yourself. I did spend quite awhile thinking through which character to put as top, and here it is! I apologize for the delay of this post.

Have a nice day!
