Killing Floor

Been watching alot of anime lately, but still time will be committed to gaming. Today's gaming topic would be on 'Killing Floor'! As the title might already hint you guys, this game is about killing. Killing what??? Well pretty ass common........its your daily zombies alike! Mutated freaks or ghouls you can call them. Something went wrong in certain part of the world, leading to this disaster. You and your squad were then ordered to fight and eliminate these hordes of zombies. Thats where the gameplay starts! This is a 1st-person shooter, released in 2009. Focused mainly on multiplayer cooperative, those with no friends are saddening, as you would have to play with shitty AIs teammates which suck real bad!! Other than that, 'Killing Floor' is definitely a fun game to get your hands on!!

Gamefaqs rating : 7.9/10
My rating : 7.5/10

Goods : Fun cooperative gameplay, great variety of mutated beings,  large number of missions/maps, certain unique features (Slow motion achieved after a successful headshot etc.), availability of different classes (Provides upgrades towards certain equipments etc.)

Bads : Lack of modes, kinda poor graphics for a 2009 game, certain obvious glitches, inflexible system tools (Guide route to trader is fixed, although there is a shorter way to it etc.)
First of all, let me start with the unimportant plot. The most attractive part of the game is obviously the gameplay, who cares about the story right?? I agree to that, but since a plot exist, i will have to talk about it. Located in London, a company experimenting mass cloning and genetic manipulation. Someday something goes wrong, human subjects undergo unexpected mutations, turned extremely hostile and overun the whole company. These mutates escaped to the public, devouring humans and creating more of its kind. You, as a military soldier was send along with others, to fight against these freaks!
A simple and thinkable plot. But still it serves as a purpose for you to play this game, and the explanation of why these freaks even appear in the first place!
Gameplay-wise, its great!! You may find it to be average, shooting zombies are all the same, but you have to admit its fun! Thats right, shooting games might felt all the same, but if you have fun after playing it, the game is worth it. In my opinion, this game is definitely worth it. This game works in a way, that you and your team have to survive up to 7-9 waves of zombies in order to clear the mission.
*Stronger zombies will appear after each wave
-Single player, which pairs you with AI teammates.............well it sucks!!! 'Killing Floor' AIs are pure dumbasses! They stand bravely in front hordes of zombies, even though zombies were like close enough to bitch-slapped them, they will not move a inch. Shooting them in the face eh......PURE stupidity!!! (Happens only when zombies became overwhelming, human players would have back off to keep a distance). So yeah, i discourage playing single player, as it will spoils your impression of the game.
-Multiplayer cooperative, thats where the real fun starts!! Killing and surviving waves of zombies never felt this fun before! When your in trouble, your friends would aid you, vice versa. Human players would definitely buy weapons as the zombies gets tougher. Higher chances of completing the mission, defeating the last boss. All these that i mention, computer-controlled players would NEVER do it.
-Zombie variations wise, its satisfying. Around 7-8 kinds of them, which i think is the sufficient amount for any zombie game. Types of zombies may stretch out from having blades/spitting slime to zombies having chainsaws/shooting rockets. Indeed, a good variety of zombies for such a game.
-Large number of missions/maps, which is good. In an abandoned mansion, shopping centre, desserted grassland etc. Any places that you can think of that is dark, empty and spooky, this game has it all. Exploring is needed, as certain maps are either extremely difficult OR extremely small. Take your time in figuring which maps are the ones that are fun and clearable!
-Certain unique features, which makes this game kind of special. The 'slow motion' feature, which can be achieved after a successful headshot, provides more chances of head-shooting your next target. The health injector, can be used to regenerate a portion of health of either yourself or teammates. The door wielder, which can be used to seal specific doors to prevent zombies from breaking in. A unimportant tool but still can be useful at times. These are the obvious features that i have noticed upon playing.
-Availability of different classes, which provides upgrades to certain equipments depending on what class you choose. For example, the 'Sharpshooter' class provides better accuracy when using scoped rifles etc. A wider range of choices to choose from rather than just being an all-rounder!
Onto the flaws of the game.....
1. Lack of modes, which is pretty damn obvious. Single player and multiplayer cooperative only! Single player sucks, which leaves only multiplayer cooperative. Its fun though, but it would be better if there are other modes like time survival etc.
2. Kinda poor graphics for a 2009 game. Graphics could be better.
3. Certain obvious glitches. Well, it more or less affects the gameplay. You can see zombies half-bodied in the wall, like if they were fucking it or some shit, which is quite frequent.
4. Inflexible system tools. For example, the guide route to trader after each wave. This route is fixed, kind of mislead the players that it is the only and fastest way. In fact, there is a shorter way, which saves way more time.
Concluding everything that i had said, this game is good despite having a couple of flaws. Well, no game is perfect in any sense. 'Killing Floor' is definitely recommended for anyone looking for a decent shooter. Sick of Left4Dead?? Try Killing Floor!!!

Have a nice day!
