Top tier characters in gaming history- Marvel vs Capcom 3/ Blazblue Continuum Shift II/ Super Street Fighter 4
Taking a break from games/anime reviewing, today i will post something different. God tier characters in fighting games history!!! all in which are personally what i feel they are. This post will be only on the 3 fighting games that i mentioned in the title, given the fact that i had played all of them for quite some time (approximate 2-7 months for each game). This will not be a long post, since i will only be listing 1 character per game, so total its just on 3 characters. These characters will either be the ones that i totally depised to fight against OR the ones that i think has the best potential among the rest! Anyway, lets get down to the details.....
1. Albert Wesker (Marvel vs Capcom 3)
-Massive teleports
-Health above average
-High base damage
-Great potential in combos/cross-ups/assists etc.
First of all, massive teleports. Wesker has tons of teleport possibilities, no matter whether its forward/ backward/ up to down or any other directions, he can do it all at a hella fast speed, almost like instantly!! No delay or whatsoever between his teleports, even if there is delay, it is not visible to the eye! Too fast for the naked eye, you wont even know where to block (low/high/front/back etc.) as wesker is just everywhere, all over you!
Health above average. Among the mvc3 roster, the average health is around 800k. Wesker, himself has 1,100,000 health!! To make things worse, he has high base damage as well! Just a simple basic combo, low health characters like Zero and X-23 would already lost 1/3 or even 1/2 of their health.
Great potential in combos/cross-ups/assists. Anybody have to agree to this!! His pistol skill which is off-the-ground allows wesker to extend his combo even longer, dealing massive damage. His teleports helps greatly in cross-ups/mix-ups during assists. Calling in wesker as a assist, for example his pistol assist, just bounces the opponent off the ground conveniently for the main character to continue its combo.
Wesker has every benefit that is possible in the game, with bonuses like tanking hp and high base damage. What do you call someone like this??.......A KILLING MACHINE!!!
2. Jin Kisaragi (Blazblue Continuum Shift II)
-Freeze stun skills (grabs, drives etc.)
-'Ice car' skill penetrates through almost anything
-Resets can be done, given his stuns
-Good potential in combos/resets etc.
First of all, freeze stun skills. Jin's drive is already a freeze stun, get hit by it and you will get your ass whooped! Forward/back/up/down drives are all different, giving Jin players the choice of switching these drives relating to the situation or for combo-extending. Same goes for his grabs.
'Ice car' penetrates through almost everything. For examples, Ragna's hellfang and Bangs's darts etc. Well, this may not be a problem if you block well. Jin also minus 25% of his meter if he uses 'Ice car' with drive. So yeah, its not really a overpowered mechanic but still it takes priority over many other moves. But if you fail to block well, kiss your ass good bye!
Resets are difficult to setup practically in every game. Well, Jin's freeze stuns made resets easier, given the time the opponent is stun, its possible to restart the combo all over again.
Good potential in combos/resets etc. Every character in blazblue has its potential in combat, so does Jin. The main focus of Jin, is the capability of doing a reset during a match, dealing even more damage. Believe it or not, hes a potential character to be learned and not spammed.
3. Seth (Super Street Fighter 4)
-Painful command grab
-Highest chipping Ultra
-Balanced throughout (Close-combat and Range)
-Great potential in combos/cross-ups etc.
First of all, painful command grabs. I would like to state Seth as a 'Zangrief with shoryukens'!!! Not as much health as Zangrief though, but damage-wise, its more or less the same, pain as fuck! Seth's shoryuken deals more hits and damage, given that you put in all the inputs correctly. Overall damage wise, this character is not to be underestimated.
Highest chipping Ultra. I am refering to Tanden Typhoon, where he puts his head on the ground and launch a typhoon from his stomach. Well, not a very good ultra to hit on point, but a very good chipping mechanism. Just dont randomly use it, best to use it when opponent is at a corner at the appropriate time.
Balanced throughout, would mean Seth is able to play keepaway and close combat. Seth has probably the most skills in the game, being most of it copied from other characters in the game. He has just the sufficient number of skills to switch between close and range combat.
Great potential in combos/cross-ups etc. Well, he has alot of skills, its highly possible that he is able to do better combos than other characters. If things get bad, you can always turn to his supreme command grab!! Just teleport and command grab the opponent from the back or head on. You can do that if your lazy with learning combos.
That will be the end of it. These all is just what i think are the top of the top tiers in the game, if you think there are other better ones, well suit yourself. I did spend quite awhile thinking through which character to put as top, and here it is! I apologize for the delay of this post.
Have a nice day!
