Call of Duty: Roads to Victory
A game review finally, but not a very impressive one. Call of duty, being one of the most played/common 1st person shooting genre so far. This alone makes me decided to give this game a try. Call of Duty: Roads to Victory is a very old game, released march 2007. Made for the psp, so dont expect too much. Without further delay, here goes the review.
My rating: 6/10
Gamespot rating: 6.2/10
Estimated playtime: 4-10 hours
Goods: Decent gameplay, several unlockables, missions are graded (serves as a motivation to redo for a better grade).
Bads: Poor story, poor graphics, controls is messed up when you first start off (time is needed to adapt), bonus material is crap and unnecessary, stupid glitches

-The 'good' parts of the game. Decent gameplay, your everyday shooting game probably the most basic! Zoom in and shoot or melee your way through, thats mostly about the game. You dont get any cool execution like strangling someone with a wire or shooting from the back of his neck etc.
-Several unlockables, like trailers/openings and other 'stuff'. This is something very common in any game, so i will not talk too much on it.
-Missions are graded (bronze/sliver/gold), depending on several markings. Markings like number of headshots, fastest cleared timing, accuracy etc. It does serves as a motivation to redo missions if you want to get a better grade or have a 'pro-looking' profile. But well, i dont really care...
-The bad parts of the game. Poor story like any COD campaigns, nothing impressive to say. War between countries, black-white cutscenes available. Still, it does no help in drawing me in and stopping me from mashing the start button to skip! Poor graphics, which makes the game looks so old and rundown.
-Controls are fucked up, totally different from the ps3. It is so uncomfortable when you first start off, ridiculous buttons settings. Imagine using buttons to control your view instead of analog, how fuck up can that be! Still, that can be adapted once you get use to it.
-Bonus materials are crap and uneccessary. Origin and information of guns/tanks/grenades, i wonder who the fuck would read all of these! To make things worse, they even have GAME CHEATS as an option! Unlimited ammo, health and grenades could be unlocked just by completing the story once. Are you fucking serious.....
-Not to forget, stupid glitches. Idiots running on the spot and into the wall. Continuously shooting the wall is another stupid example.
Compared to recent COD releases, you can clearly notice the improvement over the series. In terms of story/graphics etc. or even being able to run, this specific game can no longer match the gaming scale. I doubt anyone even play such a old crap these days.....but well thats me. So yeah, thats the review for today!
Have a nice day!
